How we decorate it

Five ways to put your mark on it

Not sure which one suits the garment and the wash it will get? Send the file and tell us who wears it, and we will pick before you pay.

Screen printing

The best value once you are past a dozen of one design, and the only route to 3M reflective, puff and metallic ink. Starts at 12 pieces.

Embroidery

Thread rather than ink, so there is nothing on the surface to crack. The right call on headwear, polos and anything laundered weekly. Standard 4.5 in wide, up to 12 thread colours, no minimum.

DTG printing

Full colour straight into the cotton, with no minimum. Best for photographic artwork. Needs cotton to bond to, so not for polyester.

DTF transfers

Full colour on almost any fabric, including the synthetics that fight ink. No minimum and no colour count, which makes it the way to do per-person names and numbers.

Water-based transfers

The ink soaks into the fabric rather than sitting on it, so you feel the garment and not the print. Best on light colours.

3M reflective ink

A screen-print ink that throws light back at a headlamp or a headlight. Screen print only — no digital method can lay it down.

Names & numbers

Per-person naming on DTF, with no per-name setup, so one garment costs the same to prepare as fifty.

Before you order

Is there a minimum order?

One piece on embroidery, DTF and DTG. Screen printing starts at 12 of a design, because that is where the screens pay for themselves.

How long does it take?

2 to 3 weeks, including shipping. If your date won’t move, rush options are on the checkout page.

How many colours can my artwork have?

Embroidery runs to 12 thread colours. Screen printing is priced per colour, so the count is a quoting question rather than a hard limit. DTG and DTF are unlimited, which is why photographic artwork goes to one of those.

Do I get a proof before you print?

Always. Nothing goes to press or onto a machine until you approve a mockup with the placement and the decoration size marked on it.

Why do you keep asking what the fabric is?

Because the fibre split decides which decoration can go on the garment at all. Anything much above 30% polyester needs a blocker or a low-cure ink, or the dye migrates into a light print weeks after it ships. It is a quoting question, not a production surprise.

Can I mix sizes and styles in one order?

Yes, and most crew orders do. 362 of the 493 garments come from one house, so fits stay consistent when you mix a work shirt with a hoodie in the same order.

Not sure which garment is right?

Tell us who wears it, how often it is laundered and what goes on it. We will name the garment and the method, or say so if it is not something we do well.
