Four ways to put your mark on a uniform
Screen print, embroidery, DTF and DTG. Which one goes on the garment is decided by the fabric, the wash it will get and the size of the run — not by whichever machine happens to be free.

Ways to decorate a uniform
Six things we are asked for. Pick one, or send the garment and the wash regime and we will tell you which of them belongs on it.
Screen printing
Plastisol or water-based, cured into the fabric. The cheapest way to print volume, the best way to survive a weekly wash, and the only route to puff, metallic and 3M reflective. From 12 pieces.
Names & numbers
Per-person naming on DTF, so one garment costs the same to set up as fifty.
Which method belongs on the garment
Four questions decide it almost every time: how many, how often it gets washed, how many colors, and whether every garment is different.
Screen print

Twelve pieces or more, all the same, and the garment goes through a weekly wash. Ink is cured into the fabric so it flexes with it rather than sitting on top. It is also the only method that can lay down 3M reflective, puff or metallic.
Embroidery

A mark that has to look identical in two years, on a polo, a cap or a jacket. Thread has nothing on the surface to crack or lift. Standard logo size is 4.5 inches wide and up to 12 thread colors. No minimum.
DTF transfers

Every garment different — a name, a number, a site code. No minimum and no color count, so one is priced like one rather than like a short run of fifty. Max size 15 × 18 inches.
DTG printing

Full-color artwork on cotton with a soft hand, and no minimum. The right answer when the art has photographic detail or too many colors to separate, and the garment is not facing industrial laundry.
